I love Israel, and support that country with everything I have. But this is just ridiculous:
I really hope they don't go through with this. The settlements are a bad idea, not because they are a valid excuse for terrorist murderers (they're not), but because by building them Israel is not taking the high road. They aren't necessary, and they just give folks like the EU loons another stupid reason to "condemn" Israel (while they blissfully excuse terrorist attack after terrorist attack against Israel's citizens.)
If Israel wants to seriously move forward, they need to abandon the settlements. The settlements do nothing to fight the terrorists that are wreaking havoc on the country. Fight the terrorists with the IDF, not more construction.
It's time for a population transfer: dismantle the settlements, bring all the settlers back into Israel proper (though I still argue that the disputed territories do, in fact, belong to Israel, but that's another rant), move all the Palestinians out, finish the wall, lock the door and throw away the key. Give them their freakin' country, then take it back when the misguided leadership and their bankrollers up north screw up again (you know it will happen.)
Bad, bad move....
