After crashing in last years team time trial, the USPS team pulled it off this year and creamed the competion. This is huge, as it puts Armstrong ahead of his main rivals by at least 30 seconds. This stage had make or break potential, and they made. What's crazy is that the victory put the USPS team members in nine of the top 11 places overall, plus it gave the yellow jersey to a Colombian for the first time in Tour history:

1. Victor Hugo Pena (Colombia) USPS 13 hours, 44 minutes
2. Lance Armstrong (USA) USPS 1 second behind
3. Viatcheslav Ekimov (Russia) USPS 00:05
4. George Hincapie (USA) USPS 00:05
5. Jose Luis Rubiera (Spain) USPS 00:23
6. Roberto Heras (Spain) USPS 00:27
7. Pavel Padrnos (Czech Republic) USPS     00:27
8. Floyd Landis (USA) USPS 00:28
9. Joseba Beloki (Spain) ONCE 00:33
10. Jorg Jaksche (Germany) ONCE 00:38
11. Manuel Beltran (Spain) USPS 00:39
