Indian gaming

In California, gambling is illegal. The only exceptions are the state lottery, horse racing, poker nights in your basement (heh heh), and Indian gaming.

The Indian reservations enjoy some major tax breaks. I don't have much of an opinion on it: it has it's merits, and it has its problems. The reservations use gaming as a major source of income.

Indian gaming has been advertising a lot lately. "Indian gaming is working", or something like that. Not sure why they are advertising. Is somebody working to have their gaming priviledge revoked? Do they want to expand the priviledge?

Just thinking aloud.
